La Blanche Pierre Hoard

In 1976, a valuable collection dating back to the Late Bronze Age was unearthed at Clos de la Blanche Pierre in St. Lawrence, Jersey. This remarkable discovery was made within a pottery vessel, and among the fractured artifacts were a variety of items, including weaponry, axes, tools, jewelry, and fragments from casting. These relics have been accurately dated to the Bronze Final II period, around the 10th century BC, and they constitute the sole known examples of their kind ever found in the Channel Islands.

These objects bear striking resemblances to those discovered in the Saint-Brieuc-de-Iffe industry in Brittany and the Wilburton complex in England, while also sharing associations with other industries in the Atlantic West. Detailed analyses of the metals found at the sites have further corroborated their close connection to industrial activities in northwestern France.
