Stig Tobiassen has been painting since he was 10. It's natural when father and grandfather paint in their spare time.
Gradually, many works of art with different techniques have become, and some are easily recognisable.
Favourite motifs are the old Lofoten with five bearings and raw sails.
The first Stig Tobiassen Gallery was named after his grandfather in 1994.
In recent years the gallery has been named after the artist and is called the Gallery Stig Tobiasen.
Stig Tobiassen works with techniques such as watercolour, acrylic and oil, and in fact he is most familiar with the technique of "mini roll", where the work takes on a special tone and atmosphere.
The gallery is located in Kirkegt.9, right in the center of Svolvær. The place is easy to find and has access from Storgat and Westfjordgat.
There is a large parking lot in front of the gallery. The gallery is easy to see with its large paintings on the outside walls.
You can find a gallery in the centre of Svolvær. The easiest way is to start with a square (large open space on the quay in the center). From Westfjordgate Square you go north towards Svolvergate and after the first "quarter" you will see the gallery on your left.
