Description: This circular bone plaque or button is crafted in the Mammen style. It features a depiction of a man, although the head is missing. The man's legs are turned upward and are connected to the body by two intertwined animals. There is also a hole in the back of the plaque.
The front of the plaque is carved in relief within a simple frame, and the reverse is partially hollowed and laterally perforated to serve as a toggle-like mount. The ornament depicts a man with his legs raised in a way that positions his feet under his armpits. His body is double contoured and filled with granulation, with spirals marking the shoulders and thighs. While the head is broken off, a portion of the beard remains preserved. Additionally, two snakes are intertwined with his limbs and waist, adding to the intricate design of the piece.
